Launched on March 17, 2022, this new immigration pathway under the (SINP) Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program has now opened various new and advanced immigration options to attract the Tech workers working under 11 occupations to immigrate to Saskatchewan.
This will now increase the Tech talents in the country thereby improving Saskatchewan's competitiveness along with reducing Tech labor shortages. Tech workers can now immigrate as PR under this new pathway program.
In one of the press releases, Jeremy Harrison, Immigration and Career Training Minister said that this new pathway will give a push to the technological sector of the country thereby providing for economic growth. Along with this, this stream will attract highly skilled workers' talent in the technology sector.
The New immigration Tech talent pathway will expedite the process of immigration for all the tech workers whether living inside or outside Canada.
Eligibility for this Tech Talent Pathway-
- SINP- Job offer letter showing approval for some eligible Tech occupation.
- CLB (Canadian Language Benchmark) of level 5 to show the minimum language level if the applicant works outside Saskatchewan and Level 7 CLB if the applicant is applying through Express Entry in English or French.
- Full time working experience of minimum 1 year in that particular occupation in the past five years if you are not working and residing outside Canada or some other province in Canada ; or at least 6 months work experience if you are working and living and applying from Saskatchewan. Full time means 30 hours per week.
- Post secondary level education
- Applicants of computer software, electrical engineers are to get qualified for Saskatchewan professional licensing.

- Computer engineer (Excluding software engineer and designer)- code 2147.
- Information System analyst and consultant- code 2171

- Software engineer and designer- code 2173
- Computer programmer and media developer- code 2174
- Web designer and developer- code 2175
- Computer network technician- code 2281
- User support technician- code 2282
- Information systems testing technician- code 2283
More Criteria for Eligibility
- If you live inside or outside Canada with legal status and are not a refugee, you will be qualified for this program.
- A valid SINP job offer under an approved tech occupation to show your intention to live and work in Saskatchewan.
- A letter from APEGS (Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan) shows that the registration application as an Engineer in Training to be approved; or
- A letter from the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan indicates that Confirmatory Exams have been assigned.
- Likewise, a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree or a 3 year university or college degree or a 2 year university/college or a recognized technical institution diploma is required that is related to the job.
Eligibility Criteria & Processing Time for Express Entry candidates
- Candidates accepted under the Express Entry are also eligible for this tech stream. Express Entry applicants receive priority for the grant of PR by IRCC with reduced processing time. Processing time is almost 6 months or sometimes less, IRCC is as of now having an overabundance of applications with a backlog leading to increased processing times.
- If the applicant is living outside Canada or has a legal status of living in Canada then he can qualify for this sub category-
- If he has a valid and legal Express Entry Profile No. and a Job Seeker Code.
- If he has a language check that is consistent with the Express Entry language necessities.
- To get your profile in the Express Entry pool, you should be eligible for any one of the Express Entry programs. Tech workers should be eligible either for the Federal Skilled Worker Program or for the Canadian Experience Class. The Federal Skilled Trades Program is for the tech workers who are not qualified for the above two.
